Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his initial championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has endured a torrid season, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the American major.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in specific - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Presently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive victory over challenger Moutet.
It is his first championship following the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface from spring of the previous year.
Success also signifies he has achieved 21 championships at 21 various events.
"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is really nice," commented ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six title deciders, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and recurring outbursts on court had led commentators to wonder if his skill to play at the highest level was concluded.
Yet the player has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to advance forward and play aggressively, supported by an improved serve.
The champion recovered from a break down in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, securing four of the concluding five games to take the lead.
The pair exchanged breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first professional championship, seized the initiative to force a final set.
Moutet rescued four early-game opportunities in a competitive third set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, he earned victory with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
